Tim's background.
I am a 32 year old, freelance graphic artist and digital telecine colour grader for film and television, based near Leeds in England.
I hold a 7307 City and Guilds certificate in adult teaching. I have taught music technology to disaffected young adults, for the Workers Education Association, throughout North Yorkshire.
I have been artistic from an early age, progressing into digital art forms in 2002. I stumbled into 3D artwork, after hearing about people creating their own cars for Grand Theft Auto III. I downloaded the free 3D modeling software Blender 3D and hundreds of tutorials, for which I'm truly grateful to the creators.
I had been designing and sketching cars for years and the prospect of building one and then driving it in a game, had me hooked instantly.
Thanks to the incredible help and support from the Blender user forums and the other graphics forums I visit, I have been able to learn so much and constantly improve my skills. Check out the links page for the forums.
I found the medium of digital art, gave me the ability to retrieve the ideas from my imagination and recreate them accurately. While my hand drawing is of a reasonable quality for concept sketches, I could not replicate what was in my imagination to a believable end result.
I'm involved in music production and engineering, with one completed album available on i-tunes and the second in the mastering stage, to be on general release later in the year. Here is the link to the released album:- THC at i-Tunes store. Band:- The Hypnotist Collectors THC Myspace site.
My passion for cars and car design, has prompted me to build my own drag racing road car. The base model is a 2004 Honda Civic Type R. You can view photos and details of the car here:- Subjective Realism Garage. The car is sponsored by Nitrous Oxide Supplies UK. Visit their website here.
